Two way cable modem check:

Is Cable modem registering? - IE are all the lights on the cable modem lit? Recieve, Send, Online.

Is the recive light lit? If no click here: Information

Is the send light lit? If no Click here: Information

Is the online light lit? If no Click here: Information

What are the signal levels of the cable modem?

2 way modems should have a signal strength ( denoted in Rx Pwr Level(dB) ) between -15dB and +15dB on the down stream signal

2 way modems should have an up stream Tx Level (dB) in the range of +8 to +58 - but should be between +25 and +50

The SNR should be above 25.0

Check the Ip address on the computer / router:

Private ip address: will be in the range: 192.168.1.X - but only if computer plugged directly into the cable modem!

Public ip address should be in the range:

One Way: 209.77.201.x

Two Way Gualala: 63.199.80.x

Two way The Sea Ranch: 64.160.187.x
